our friend hambeak just got the most dreaded phone call from his jw child.
the news was passed on as he was asked for by name and not as"dad" and let known that "they" just called to let him know that his other son, brian, age 26, is dead.
he was in a car accident.
oh Hambeak (((((((((())))))))))
~
last sunday, my dad passed away at age 76. he knew since last april that he had cancer.
his funeral was yesterday afternoon.
many friends and family members attended.
My heartfelt condolences to you at this time, JH.
My mother died in July, and I understand the confusion and uncertainty over beliefs (one's own and others') in regard to death at such a time. My 5-year old daughter and I with her during her last days here, and my daughter seemed to handle it with such trust, simplicity and grace that I foolishly thought everything was fine and would continue to be....until about a week ago when she broke down sobbing, afraid of dying, afraid I would die, afraid her dad would die, wondering why we have to die. I did everything I could to console her and help her express her thoughts and feelings. We held each other for what felt like hours. And finally what let her relax and get to sleep was my confessing, "I don't have all the answers, baby, but don't worry, we'll figure it out together, ok?" So today she pops up with, "I'm not afraid to die any more," beginning a whole new conversation.
I guess what I am trying to say is, I hope you feel lots of love from this here group of folks, all of us in various stages of making sense of it, accepting it, and coping with it.

here is my naturalized and humbled opinion and intention.
have a beatifically beautiful day!:.
i believe it to be a truism that the nature of the universe is indifference, to us.
Welcome home, TS.

this is the guy that sat on my razor blades the one time i was thinking of cutting myself... this is the guy that everytime my dad beat me, would come to my room and lay with me... this is the guy that one time jumped into the bathtub with me while i was crying after a brutal beating, the cat hated water... this is a cat that was more family to me than my own father and mother combined... this was my best friend... .
today i had to do the hardest thing i ever did, i had to choose to have him put down... and as he fought the vet, and tried to bite her, i put my hand on his head, and he stopped struggling... and as they put the last needle into his leg, he purred until he died... the vet says she has never seen that before... this was my best friend and i had to kill him... fuck, im a baby, but i miss him soooo much.
the infamous one.
What a terrible terrible loss. I'm so sorry. What a blessing a friend like that was in your life! I definitely feel for you. Small consolation, but wanted to let you know. Cherish the love cos that will never go away. ~Merry
recently i had the pleasure to examine a stash of 1920s and 1930s golden age magazines, among the rarest of watchtower publications.
i thought it would be a fun idea to have a thread in which i share with you some of the amazing, ridiculous, hilarious things contained therein.
hence, this is the first post of a series of excerpts, scans, etc.
I like that little dig at the beginning of the calendar articles--
"This is no nonsense, or worse than nonsense from the Great Pyramid in Egypt..." LOL Take that Russell! Rutherford and Company would never put forth any nonsense, now would they!?!
For all the work they put into it, they didn't really think through the practical every day use of their "Jehovah's Calendar." I wonder if anyone tried to use it. Great for a laugh. Thanks! And yet...it makes me really really sad and embarrassed that my great-grandfather and grandparents bought into this.
thanks to apostanator i have received copies of the deeds and transfers to beth sarim.
the pages are not the best quality so i have enhanced them to make sure we can read what they say.
i have scanned them at 300dpi and initially saved them as tif files.
Nothing of historical note, just something occuring at present in RE to 1440--

If they got the go-ahead maybe they'll dig up the Judge...
it was made by a women who in later years wore crotchless panties and bras which had holes in the nipple areas.
he not only knew the woman in question (she's now deceased), he has met her numerous times.
up until recently this secret of her year's long sexual affair with rutherford was kept by the family.
Great Van Amburgh run-down, Leo! I wondered about the timing, as to whether or not the Boyds or Paulings could be connected with them in some way. But Ramsey and Rice Counties aren't even adjoining.:-( If there is a family connection, it will take more work to find....

I just noticed that Van Amburgh was from Minnesota. Perhaps he knew the Boyds and/or Paulings from there...hmmm...
